A very typical sound-scape of an open field, bordered by the large shawnee national forest. A warm day in june, with a lot of birds, and, if you listen to the higher frequencies, in the background always there, are the ever-present insects. Recorded in june 2009 around 11:00 in the morning. Tempurature was about 78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This is also interesting in that it shows how, early in the summer, the bird vocalizations often are louder than the insects, but, as the summer goes on, this is reversed. . It is 5 am. I need some birdsounds for the project i work on. But the city is so loud. I only can do it very early in the morning. This wood thrush was recorded around 7:30 in the morning in heavy woods in deep southern illinois. Unlike my earlier posting of the wood thrush singing at dusk, this morning recording has the wood thrush singing with lots of company, although he clearly rises above his neighbors. 17 seconds into the recording you hear the drumming of a woodpecker, and at one-minute 20 seconds into the recording you hear the distinctive-lonely sounding call of the huge pileated woodpecker. Recording made with good-quality stereo microphones so use headphones to get a wonderful experience.

During this recording at a small pond with frogs a dog comes closer and barks. The frogs in the pond start to warn each others. They are getting crazy for a short time, then they calm down again. Northwest wind gusts through a forest of oak and beech and pine trees. Recorded on saturday july 21st, 2018 at 3:30pm in a midwestern forest. Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. A nice, peaceful, soothing snapshot of summer----recorded just 4 weeks after the solstice here in the northern hemishpere. Temp: 84 degrees fhumidity: 51%. About 2. 5 minutes of ambient audio recorded at the hurunui jacks campground adjacent to the kaniere river near hokitika on the west coast of new zealand. This is an inland tropical rain-forest setting. There are lots of insect sounds, birds, and the sound of the river (not very prominent) in the background. No other sounds captured (no cars, airplanes, honking horns, people talking, etc). Would be good to use for a camp scene ambient in a similar location, nature scene, etc. Recorded with a zoom h1.

Been fairly busy lately, but, finally i'm glad to be able to get around to posting some more wonderful, enjoyable nature sounds. This is a hot-humid july ambiance recorded at midday in the shawnee national forest in illinois. The predominant bird you hear is an eastern towhee. His call literally sounds like he is thirsty and tired of the heat of summer!this woods recording has the feel of slow motion summer, but still with the exciting and subtle knowledge that, things are starting to give way to autumn, and indoor schedules and long shadows. . Recorded thursday july 21, 2022. Equipment: zoom f3 and lom usi pro microphones. Recording in deep hardwood forest containing many hickory trees, beech trees and a lot of oak trees. A magical place.

A recording in the midwestern forest made on sunday september 27th, 2015 around 3:00pm in early autumn. At this time of the year a lot of the summer neo-tropical migrant songbirds either have left for their winter home, or, are quieting down and preparing to leave. During this transition period in early fall the woods are not as loud as, say, three weeks ago. Even the insects seem subdued. At around 12 seconds into this recording you hear the squeaky call of a tree-frog. Recording made with marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted on a tripod about 4 feet above the ground.

I went out to the lake to record some ducks. This day they weren’t squawking as much as i’d hoped, but the wind was calmer than it normally is, and the wind really is your biggest enemy when making outdoor recordings like these. But overall, the recording isn’t bad. The ducks are smallish black ones with white beaks called the american coot. Lots of tweeting birds in there too, especially the first half, and i think those are just the normal small sparrows that you see everywhere. Couple people chatting, but they’re way in the distance. Zoom h1n recording from this morning's rainstorm in metro detroit. The original recording was from 5:02am to 7:26am, but due to a lot of secondary rain drops splashes hitting the recorder directly when the wind would shift i edited it down to 52 minutes after taking most of the knocks outs when i edited in movavi. Pretty steady rain for most of the track as you hear the hum from the morning commuters in their cars increase in the distant background. You'll hear some birds too throughout the track, mostly starlings i believe.

Two mourning doves: one close, one far distant, in a mating call and response. Pretty clean, spring pre-air conditioner pollution season background with light birdsong way back. Recorded @ 8khz with a griffin italk mic to a recently refurbished 20gb 3rd generation ipod - my favorite lo-fi field recording / interview rig. If you have a recording device on your person, you get a lot of stuff you'd otherwise miss altogether. This rig helps me get those things too ephemeral to capture with a stereo pair; sounds i would regret not having at all. I keep it on my belt 90% of the time. Just in case.

Hi. This soundfile was recorded on 03. 06. 2017 in szczecin, nw poland (gumience district to be precise). The time of this recording is from around 3 a. M. (when the sun was allready rising) till around 7:30 a. M. What's funny about that, is that i turned my recorder on and layed it on the windowsill (display up) on altitude around 5 meters (first floor), (the recorder is facing ne direction) because the birds were allready going crazy!, and after some time i felt asleep, and the recorder was left on. There are many many kinds of birds around, cause there is a big cementery near by, with lots of trees, and some wild fruit orchard too. I had this one moment, when the birds were so active, that let's say they spinned it me around, and worked me up to a beautifull spiritual moment with their sounds, and then i felt asleep. Later through the recording you can hear me snoring, you can hear my alarm clock going on (and that haven't woken me up too;). The bass resonance of cars passing by makes this recording a bit heavy in some places, and the wind made it's mark too, but that shoudn't be a big of an issue here. As i listen to it now, so much things happened while i was asleep. . . [ 3:30 a. M. !: some people are singing and speaking, and you can clearly hear one of them saying: "kurwa, grubo", which means - "f**k, heavy". Later on, the neighbours weren't sloppy too;). Hearing such recordings doesn't give you the liminous feeling of the place where it was recorded. You only get audio here, not the vision, the light, the brightness, the movement, the actions, and the space, the physical elements, only the best can imagine (so if you don't have such an imagination, pm me and i can send you a photo of the place where all this took place). Anyway, i hope that the birds will keep rockin' their solos, and the bees will keep visiting all the flowers around forever! (who knows, i might become one of them sometime;). This is my first recording using my binaural mic. I took a walk to meet my wife for lunch and decided to record it. It was windy outside, and even with the standard foam wind protection, you can still hear some wind rumble. It might be fixed using some low cut filtering but i wanted to post it as is. This take started inside my recording studio and ended in a fairly large avenue with lots of traffic (cars and motorcycles). There is a pause on the recording by 01:59, when i had to change the mic cable position. Signal chain: roland cs-10em (with foam windscreen) > sony pcm-m10 (rec level: manual, at about 3,5; mic sensitivity: low; limiter: off; low cut filter: disabled).

I just love this deep rich harmonic sound with some phase modulation! i've tried to capture it the last month and half and finally managed it. There's quite a lot of air traffic (planes and helicopters) here in prague - písnice, but most of the helicopters have poor sound. It is bell 407 helicopter ok-alb in black/beige color operated by blue sky service (http://www. Ok-alb. Com/). Flight mode-s code a37a9ea. First it approaches with the deep harmonic sound, then it flies by overhead with a more noisy mid-spectrum sound. Recorded on zoom h4nsp, this time with 4gb sd card which has far lower startup time than 32 gb one (like 12 secs compared to more than a minute). Besides the helicopter itself there are some birds singing, insects buzzing and some rumble from the wind (i didn't manage attach the deadcat windshield so quickly). Basic frequency: ~ 33. 87 hz. I don't want to go into detail in this public forum, but someone incredibly important and incredibly young in my life and my wife's just passed away. I am thus looking for an extra long recording of a peaceful "forrest ambience" to play during the good-bye ceremony. Something with some birds and perhaps some wind through the leaves,. . . . Currently the ceremony is planned for april 6th so i would need this before then. It is one of the largest shifting sand areas in western europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places, resulting in an ever-changing landscape. By purchasing it in 1921, it has been protected for 100 years and we can still enjoy this brabant sahara today. You can roam freely on the sand plain. So there is plenty of room to explore extensively. Marvel at the submerged trees, enjoy the chirping field crickets and quench your thirst at one of the many cafes or restaurants on the edge of this nature reserve. Walking, cycling or on horseback: it's all possible here. With the wind in your hair and the sand in your shoes. You may even come across the sheep herd. The sheep keep the heath short and eat away saplings. This is how they keep the area open. The loonse en drunense duinen still has 270 hectares of shifting sand. That sand creates rather extreme conditions: the soil is dry and nutrient-poor. The difference in temperature between day and night can be as much as 50 degrees celsius. This ensures a unique flora and fauna. The animals and plants have adapted or feel at home in drought, aridity and temperature fluctuations. Sand sedge and various lichens, for example. And the viviparous lizard, sandpit beetles and sand bees. All species that love sand. In the last ice age, the polar winds blew sand from the north to brabant, where it remained in thick packages. For a long time this sandy plain was covered with primeval forests. Until the fourteenth century the trees were felled by people. They used the wood as fuel. The bare plain was filled with heather, where the farmers grazed their cattle. This intensive grazing and the sod cutting of the soil depleted the soil. This gave the sand free play. For a long time, the sand was a major problem for the residents. Villages and fields threatened to disappear under it. Trees were planted to stop the advancing sand.
